Description:Three soldiers pose for a photograph as they descend the main road into Rugeley from the Rugeley Camp. The left hand turn would be the Birches Valley Road to Flints Corner.

The financial situation would have improved for the community as there would have been thousands of men wanting to escape the training and get off site and frequent local hostelries. Whilst men were stationed at the Camps local homes rented out bedrooms to family members in order that they could see their loved ones before they were posted abroad.
