Description:This is one of the few colour-tinted postcards of the Grat War Camps. This is a view of Rugeley Camp from the Penkridge side of Penkridge Bank Road, just down from Broadhurst Green. Most of the people in the image are sightseers drawn to the unusual sight of hundreds of huts covering the Chase. The Camp would have had better facilities than most towns and villages in the country.

The White House can be seen in the distance as the road bears to the left. The military railway crosses the road from left to right and heads down Brindley Valley with a spur following the main road up to Rifle Range corner. Ahead are the Battalion Lines numbered 16 to 19 from left to right. Brocton Camp Lines were identified alphabetically no doubt to avoid confusion with mail sent to the soldiers.
