Description:The Officers' Clubs were separate from the other ranks and it is interesting to see in this photograph that at the end of the room there appears to be an open fireplace instead of the usual coal-fired stove. The comfy chairs and tables were a luxury within the Camps and as some of the officers were there as instructors they were known to hire furniture for their own personal rooms. This was another way local tradesmen benefited from the arrival of the troops. Some of the officers were lucky enough to get accommodation off Camp and could bring their families down to stay with them.
