Description:In 1917, Sir Arthur Grant, Commandant of the German PoW Camp on the Chase, wrote in his diary that he had a very nice bungalow situated just outside the wire and he said "With the most glorious view in England spread our before me" As this bungalow on Chase Road would have backed on to Lines E & F of the German Prisoner of War Camp, could this be Sir Arthur's bungalow?
Sir Arthur's Diary held by his grandson in Aberdeen. Pencil note on reverse of postcard saying before "Evertons" was built. Evertons was owned by Ellen Everton, former owner of The Picture House, She died in 1950.
