Description:The lighter huts in the lower part of the postcard are the Officers' Huts for "L" Lines to the left and "M" Lines to the right. Besides a truck driving up the hillside, what appears to be a steam traction engine is emerging from behind the huts on the right, no doubt still working on the main roadways throughout the Camp.
Out of sight, to the right of Old Acre Valley would have been the Power Station chimneys and Water Tower, the two most recognisable features of the Camp. All the postcards show the overhead power cables providing electricity to the huts, this was not just a luxury but a necessity in order to continue study and training throughout the evenings and the shorter days of winter. The Army needed to get the troops through an intensive course of training and get them ready for service as soon as possible.
